Thibault Morey described the 2020 vintage as “relatively easy” with no complications or illness in the vines for the growing season, even if he admitted that some of his vines did suffer from lack of water in the drought and heat that had prevailed through the summer months. He picked a little earlier than usual but is extremely happy with the resultant wines. He is one of an increasing number of white winemakers in the region to be using larger barrels (350 litres in place of the traditional 228 litre barrels) as well as concrete eggs, which, combined with his biodynamic approach, is certainly leading to wines of incredible purity, restraint and harmony. We are very pleased to continue representing his wines in the UK. These are wines of sublime focus and energy.

Only two 350 litre barrels were made in 2020, one new, one from 2018. This tasting note from the older barrel. The fruit shows a seamless, silky quality with subtle citrus and ripe white stone fruit, gently mouth-filling.
