PINK
2019 Partida Pedrer Rosat, Sara I René Viticultors - £145 per 6 bottle case in bond
Anyone who has tasted this already knows how special it is. Perhaps one of the most complex and distinctive rosés I have tasted. A serious wine, subtle hints of summer berry, herb and spice. A slight smoky note, somehow reminiscent of vintage Champagne due to time on the lees. Tasty, salty, with a blood orange note on the finish – breathtaking.
2020 Rosato Piano dei Daini, Tenute Bosco - £105 per 6 bottle case in bond
From the slopes of Mount Etna, this pale pink rosato is all class. Delicate floral and stone fruit notes, vibrant notes of peach, nectarine, cherry and a touch of spice. Refreshing, with a silky texture and a delightful, mouthwatering finish.
FIZZ
NV Extra Brut Grand Cru, Le Terroir, Adrien Renoir - £240 per 6 bottle case in bond
From one of Champagne's rising stars, this wine stunned us. Deep, rich and concentrated, notes of ripe orchard fruit and freshly baked bread, plenty of energy on the palate, with a tightly wound core of fruit. This is a complex wine with structure, impeccable fruit quality and purity. Stunning.
2016Brut Nature, Serral del Vel, Recaredo - £185 per 6 bottle case in bond
Not strictly a Cava, this is a Corpinnat (quality-focused sub-zone of Cava). We discovered this estate a couple of years ago and have championed it ever since. Focused on very extended lees ageing, these are stunning, complex wines. Completely dry (no dosage), white flowers, fresh bread, a gentle creaminess in texture, a smoky note with an underlying mineral backbone leading to a fresh and elegant finish. Seriously classy.
2012 Extra Brut Rosé, Cuvée 1522, Philipponnat - £415 per 6 bottle case in bond
From a great Champagne vintage, notes of sweet, ripe red berries and freshly-baked pastry. Plenty of direction and structure, chalky mineral undertone. So expressive, luxuriant, vibrant and long. A fabulous rosé Champagne.
