With the days already evidently longer since the clocks changed, we have selected ten daily drinking wines, all of which are available for less than £170 per 6 bottle case in bond, and all of which are in stock, therefore available for immediate delivery.

In fact, the selection range starts at £65 per 6 bottle case in bond, and includes five whites, four reds and a distinctive Sicilian rose. It includes many Atlas staples such as Vietti’s Roero Arneis 2022, perhaps the best example yet of this refreshing Italian white, Domaine Latour-Giraud’s outstanding 2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay and Domaine Lécheneaut’s consistently excellent Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits.

This is a great range with which to stock up a little for Spring and early Summer entertaining – or if you wine rack is looking a little depleted – and, who knows, perhaps we’ll be able to start eating al fresco before long!

As an added incentive, if you order four cases from this offer, you will qualify to purchase a case of one of the last two wines at half price – either the 2019 Langhe Nebbiolo or the 2020 Etna Rosato!

Five whites

2022 Roero Arneis, Vietti
£105 per 6 bottle case in bond
This shows a slightly nutty, peach kernel character, common to the Arneis, delivered with juicy peach/nectarine fruit of purity and freshness. A highly individual white from a lesser-known variety, but a deservedly known producer.

2020 Soave Classico, Monte Tondo, Casette Foscarino
£84 per 6 bottle case in bond (NB this is only available duty paid and will be invoiced with duty and VAT)
This Soave continues to impress us greatly with an impressive depth of fruit underscored by a minerally acidity and a with a slatey saline note to the finish. An absolute steal.

2020 Chardonnay, Bonnigheimer Sonnenberg, Weingut Dautel
£140 per 6 bottle case in bond
Typical of the Dautel wines, there is a pristine clarity to the fruit. Appealing yellow citrus fruit on the palate offset by a taut, tensile nature on a long finish. This is really classy Chardonnay and illustrates the possibilities for this great variety in the once-cooler climates of Germany.

2021 Chardonnay, 1000 Crowns, Credaro
£165 per 6 bottle case in bond
Such a zesty style, with plenty of tension to underscore the beautiful fruit – all fully ripe stone fruits, nectarine, peach and grapefruit. The sense of poise and harmony are remarkable.

2021 Bourgogne Chardonnay, Domaine Latour-Giraud
£170 per 6 bottle case in bond
The concentration of fruit for a simple Bourgogne Blanc is astonishing here. Pure, ripe citrus fruit flavours – lemon, lime, grapefruit. Great tension and length for level. As ever, an overperformer.

Four reds

2021 Dolcetto d’Alba, Vantirn, Bosco Agostino
£65 per 6 bottle case in bond
The appealing soft, sweet cherry fruit of Dolcetto is harnessed in a wine of easy drinkability – all soft ripe fruit, gentle structure and a fresh and dangerously more-ish finish

2020 Etna Rosso, Piano dei Daini, Tenute Bosco
£120 per 6 bottle case in bond
Bosco’s Etna Rosso is 90% Nerello Mascalese with 10% Nerello Cappuccio added to the blend. Ripe red berry fruit, sweet spice and tobacco on the nose lead into a palate that is silky in texture, with very fine-grained tannins. This glides across the palate before finishing long, with a distinctive saline quality.

2020 Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Domaine Lécheneaut
£120 per 6 bottle case in bond
Perfumed red and blue berry fruit on the nose. The palate shows excellent weight and balance. Clean fresh fruit all the way through with scented lift and lovely harmony.

2019 Langhe Nebbiolo, Bosco Agostino
£180 per 12 bottle case in bond
Beautifully scented cherry and red berry fruit glides across the palate and is given focus by a light but balancing Nebbiolo structure and mouthwatering length. Drinking perfectly now after a few years harmonising in bottle. Phenomenal value from a winemaker of great humility and sensitivity.

One Rosé

2020 Etna Rosato, Piano dei Daini, Tenute Bosco
£105 per 6 bottle case in bond
A characterful rosato from Nerello Mascalese. This has everything you want in a rosé. Pale colour. Light, fragrant fruit. Notes of tangy citrus fruit, subtle hints of peach and nectarine, cherry and a touch of spice on a fresh, dry palate.

Please let us know of your interest.
etna rosato, piano dei daini
