Tastings and Dinners

The Great Burgundy Tasting
  • Event: The Great Burgundy Tasting
  • Date: 17/03/2015
  • Time: 18:30
  • Location: 10 Upper Bank Street
  • Price: £75 (inc. vat) per person or £65 (inc. vat) per person for bookings of four or more.

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our Great Burgundy Tasting on Tuesday 17th March.

This event, to be held on the
30th Floor of 10 Upper Bank Street, Canary Wharf (the Clifford Chance building in which Atlas Fine Wines’ offices are located), follows on from our hugely successful Italian, Bordeaux and Champagne Tastings.

If you don’t know the venue, it is fair to say that this space permits panoramic views over London. It is an informal, walk-around tasting where you can choose what to taste as you make your way around the room.

Most similar scale Burgundy tastings focus on the most recent releases, so currently various merchants are gearing up to show unfinished, barrel samples of the 2013 vintage. As interesting as that is, we believe that the samples vary dramatically and prefer the idea of showing finished wines from bottle as we think it permits a better chance to assess the wines and gives you a clearer view of how the wine will evolve. This tasting will present you with an opportunity to taste wines from vintages 2011, 2010 and 2009 as well as a few older examples ranging from generic Bourgogne, to villages, Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Both white and red Burgundy will be featured as well as Chablis.

All of Atlas's key Burgundian domaines will be represented, including Patrick JavillierHumbert FrèresSylvain Cathiard, Darviot-Perrin, Robert SirugueLaurent Ponsot and Taupenot-Merme amongst others.

We have already selected over 30 different wines from over one dozen of Burgundy domaines and will look to announce further additions to the line-up in the coming weeks. As has become customary at our 30th Floor tastings, the evening will conclude with a selection of cheese and biscuits as well as accompanying wines.

I would stress that these tastings have proven incredibly popular, permitting the audience a chance to taste a great many wines side by side, so we would certainly advise early booking to avoid disappointment. Please note that the ticket prices are as follows, with a special concession for group bookings of four or more tickets.

Individual Ticket Price: £75 (inc vat) per person

Ticket price for a group booking of four or more tickets: £65 (inc vat) per person

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions relating to the event and we look forward to hopefully welcoming you on the 17th.

Tickets strictly limited and are available on a ‘first come, first served’  basis. We are anticipating considerable interest, so please request tickets below or by contacting Hannah Van Susteren directly on either hannah.vansusteren@atlasfinewines.com or +44 (0) 20 3017 2293.
