We are delighted to announce that Atlas is holding a Château Clinet tasting and dinner on the 4th March. We have admired this Pomerol estate for some considerable time; ever since having tasted the truly spectacular 1989 and 1990 vintages. In the last four or five vintages, Château Clinet has rediscovered the consistency of a truly great château and has subsequently become a regular Atlas endorsement. We are therefore very pleased that Ronan Laborde of Château Clinet will be joining us for this select event and will be on hand to provide commentary on recent vintages and explain the strides forward taken at Clinet.
As has become an established pattern at these Atlas dinners, the evening will commence with a glass of Champagne at 6.45pm, to be followed by a tasting of five relatively youthful wines in advance of dinner. We will then partner five more mature vintages to the specific dishes especially prepared by the chef at The Don. One particular highlight of the event will be the opportunity to taste four recent vintages in a flight, including both the 2009 and 2010 vintages. As you know, the 2009 received a perfect score of 100 points from influential wine critic Robert Parker yet in my view, the 2010, which made less of an impression on Parker, is clearly on the same lofty plain. The evening will conclude with a glass of 2002 Tokaji 5 Puttonyos from Châteaux Pajzos, which is also under the ownership of the Laborde family.
