Clearance Auction December 2022
Welcome to our first ever Bin End Sale, with a difference; it is actually a Bin End Auction!
We have never had the need to hold a Bin End Sale before as we work hard on maintaining our inventory, but we have accumulated a few bits and pieces recently. The sale list comprises either a few residual cases that we would happily sell on, or a wine that is in need of drinking up or perhaps the final case or bottles of a particular stock line. In some instances, it is simply that we now have the next vintage on hand and the sale gives us an opportunity to tidy up our stock list before we start 2023.
This is an auction with a difference, however, as there are no reserve prices. Once any lot has received a first bid, it will sell even if there are no subsequent bids, so if you see something you like, you have a good chance of securing it at the opening bid.
We have never been fans of nominal reductions masquerading as serious discounts, where prices are reduced by just 3% here or 5% there. You will see from the list there are significant discounts and many wines are below cost – simply put, the purpose of this sale is to clear these stock lines. In fact, to give you an idea, the total value of stock included in this sale is valued at our Atlas Guide Price at £78,480 and we have discounted this to a combined total of £57,789. That’s a reduction of over 25%.
Each lot states the duty status (most lots are being sold in bond) and we also state the normal list price for your reference. To find this detail, please click on the wine label image and scroll down to the description text on the individual wine page.
The auction starts on 23rd December, with the sale for lots priced under £100 ending on 27th December, lots up to £200 ending on 30th December and lots over £200 ending on 3rd January – all at 4pm.
We will be able to arrange deliveries from early January as required – normal terms apply. Please note you need to register to be able to bid in this auction. Even if you are already an Atlas client with a password and login, you will need to create one especially for the auction.
Good luck and I hope you secure a bargain.
All the best,
Simon Larkin MW
