We are very pleased to invite you to the Domaine Ponsot Tasting and Dinner that we are holding with Rose-Marie Ponsot, the Director of the domaine. The event is for a sixteen clients and will take place on 10th May at The Berkeley in the Montcomb Room.
Simon Larkin MW, Managing Director of Atlas Fine Wines, has followed this domaine more closely than perhaps any other over the last 20 years, having worked with them at his previous employers. Over this period, he has seen a dramatic surge in quality and consistency, culminating in a remarkable run of vintages post 2000. As Simon says, it is highly likely that several of Ponsot’s extensive range of Grand Cru will rank in his top ten in almost any Burgundy vintage he tastes from barrel. Domaine Ponsot gained famed under the stewardship of the charismatic Laurent Ponsot, Rose-Marie’s brother, who stepped back last year to begin a négociant business and to write a book. While Laurent still holds stake within the Domaine, Rose-Marie has moved forward from a ‘behind-the-scenes’ role to oversee the day-to-day management of the estate. Since Laurent Ponsot’s departure to pursue his own aims, wine-making responsibilities have passed to Alexandre Abel, who is working with the team previously supervised by Laurent. We are delighted that Rose-Marie will be on hand to explain how this exceptional domaine moves forward in its new era as we discuss and taste through wines from across the Ponsot portfolio including five vintages of the Clos de la Roche Vieilles Vignes, the property’s flagship Grand Cru. The full list is as follows:

The evening will begin at 7pm with a glass of Champagne before moving onto the pre-dinner tasting. The Head Chef at The Berkeley is creating a menu specifically to pair with the more mature examples. We anticipate the evening concluding at 10.30pm.
Tickets for the evening are £425 (inc VAT) per person. Please note that, as ever, we do not make a profit on such events but simply recoup costs.
Do let us know at your earliest convenience whether you can attend as the evening is only open to sixteen clients. Given our clients’ interest in Domaine Ponsot and the limited space available we anticipate that this event will fill up rather quickly.
