Domaine Faiveley 2019

January 2021

Faiveley began picking in 2019 on 9th and finished on 20th September. The vinifications were short and gentle and this really comes through in a set of wines that have been sensitively made, as has become more and more the case here.

2019 Nuits-St Georges 1er Cru, Les Porets-St-Georges, Domaine Faiveley
£330 per 6 bottle case in bond

Floral blue fruit touch with a creamy note on the nose. Ripe fruit, cooly managed. The more mineral, taut nature of the vineyard really comes through here. Sweet ripe fruit gives way to a fine gravelly persistence. Drink 2023-2034

2019 Nuits-St Georges 1er Cru, Aux Chaignots, Domaine Faiveley
£360 per 6 bottle case in bond

That velvety aspect typical of this Vosne side Premier Cru comes through immediately and shows a wonderful balance between silky fruit and gravelly minerality. Richness and finesse are combined in a very well expressed Chaignots, which finishes with an exotic spice note and a cherry fruit length. Drink 2023-2035

2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, Les Charmes, Domaine Faiveley
£450 per 6 bottle case in bond

Scented red fruit with lovely purity and clarity. Supple-textured, flowing palate. Elegant density; good fruit concentration allied to graceful fluidity. Fruit skin grip at the end with cherry notes and chalky tannins of silky finesse. Drink 2023-2034

As always with Burgundy releases, we are unable to sell leading Grand Cru and Premier Cru or wines from particularly sought-after domaines in isolation – we cannot buy them from the domaines that way ourselves and we are aware that demand is sure to outstrip supply. However, instead of running a complex system of allocations, we do aim to confirm requests as soon as we are able to do so or to highlight where we are unable to assist. To request a specific wine, please contact any member of the sales team on +44 (0) 20 3017 2299. You can also reach Simon Larkin MWRichard O'Mahony, and James Ceppi di Lecco by email.
