Louis Jadot 2018

January 2020

The consistently high quality achieved by Louis Jadot across its range of more than 200 different wines remains astonishing. While the regional and villages wines can offer excellent value, it is with the Premier and Grand Crus that the interest really lies. Our range concentrates on wines from Jadot’s own vineyards, split between Domaine des Héritiers Louis Jadot (the original holdings from when Louis Jadot first established the company) and Domaine Louis Jadot. The remaining wines were made from grapes grown on vineyards belonging to families with whom Jadot has had long-term partnerships (as well as exclusive access). Indeed, they have farmed the vineyards of Domaine Gagey and Domaine Duc de Magenta for several decades.

2018 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru, Domaine Jadot
£990 per 6 bottle case in bond

Deep dark blue fruits grace the nose then give way to a palate that is broad and mouthfilling. This is a full and firm Clos de la Roche but with a ripe fruit skin grip. There is also great persistence with a fragrant touch emerging to adorn the finish. Drink 2023-2040

2018 Clos St-Denis Grand Cru, Domaine Jadot
£990 per 6 bottle case in bond

Scented blue fruit on the nose. Ripe, fresh, healthy, pure fruit with a dark chocolate tone on a fresh, rounded palate. The finish balances vibrant notes of cherries and spice against an irony and stony mineral power. Drink 2024-2040

2018 Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru, Les Folatiè
res, Domaine des Heritiers Jadot
£360 per 6 bottle case in bond

Lifted white flower notes and lime-citrus on the nose are followed by a flowing palate not without structure. The juicy fruit intensity on the palate shows typical lemon and lime characters, supple breadth and a long finish of subtle mineral expression. Drink 2022-2030

2018
Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, Les Morgeots, Duc de Magenta, Jadot
£330 per 6 bottle case in bond

Lifted white flower notes and lime-citrus on the nose are followed by a flowing palate not without structure. The juicy fruit intensity on the palate shows typical lemon and lime characters, supple breadth and a long finish of subtle mineral expression. Drink 2022-2030

As always with Burgundy releases, we are unable to sell leading Grand Cru and Premier Cru or wines from particularly sought-after domaines in isolation – we cannot buy them from the domaines that way ourselves and we are aware that demand is sure to outstrip supply. However, instead of running a complex system of allocations, we do aim to confirm requests as soon as we are able to do so or to highlight where we are unable to assist. To request a specific wine, please contact any member of the sales team on +44 (0) 20 3017 2299. You can also reach Simon Larkin MWRichard O'Mahony, and James Ceppi di Lecco by email.
