Château Prieuré-Lichine 2022 was released this morning at £182 per 6 bottle case in bond.

Another undoubted success in the vintage, Prieuré-Lichine shows a terrific vibrancy in 2022. Bright in the glass, with juicy berry fruit, mint, even a slight moist fruitcake touch on the nose. By no means full-bodied, this shows ample richness on the palate, really finely expressed tannins and slightly more forest fruit characters than the nose revealed, all underscored by considerable freshness. This is such an appealing Margaux; elegant, poised and beautifully ripe. Right up there with the estate’s 2015 and 2016. Should be a keen value. (SL). 2030 to 2045.

Please see below for notes from William Kelley, Antonio Galloni and Jane Anson.

91-93 points, William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
Offering up generous amounts of sweet berries, orange rind and licorice, the 2022 Prieuré-Lichine is medium to full-bodied, rich and layered, with a lively core of fruit that's framed by powdery tannins that assert themselves on the youthfully firm finish. This heavily morcellated estate (amounting to some 125 different parcels) continues to benefit from a more rigorous selection and better attention to detail regarding harvest dates.

91-93 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
The 2022 Prieuré-Lichine is classy and polished, with lovely aromatic brightness to match its silky, mid-weight personality. Crushed flowers, mint, blood orange and spice are nicely delineated. There's good up-front richness, but then a bit less intensity through the mid-palate and finish. Tasted two times. Drink 2027-2047

93 points, Jane Anson, Inside Bordeaux
Inky plum depths to the colours here are vivid and inviting, and on the palate you get plenty of character and spice. Things are high volume and intense, with ripe blackberry and loganberry fruit, autumnal but still with plenty of juice and texture. Good quality. 32hl/h yield.
